9 steps to help improve your management skills and increase your performance



The duties of a  restaurant jobs  may vary, depending on the business, but typically include the overseeing of food preparation, checking the quality and size of servings, ordering and organizing food and drink supplies, maintaining equipment, adhering to health and safety precautions, making sure the kitchen and dining areas are cleaned according to certain standards, keeping records for health inspectors, and solving employee and customer issues. Here are some helpful tips for improve your management skill:

1. Set clear milestones:
Successful business people and achievers in any career in all fields set goals. Setting goals helps you gain vision and motivation. It focuses your accretion of knowledge, and helps you to organize your time and your resources so that you can make the most of your career and your life.

2. Plan and prioritize:
To effectively prioritize your tasks, you need to know how urgent and how important all your different work tasks are; then you can rank them accordingly. Important work should line up with your long-term goals, whereas urgent work simply needs to be done as soon as possible. By learning proper prioritization strategies, you’ll become more productive.

3.  Acknowledge your strengths and weaknesses:
Self awareness is a positive thing. The more you understand your different qualities, the better you can manage in the workplace and in your life. If you know your strengths, ask yourself how you can find more opportunities to use these strengths everyday, for the benefit of your job and the workplace team. If you recognize your weaknesses you can work on them to improve how well you complete each task in front of you.

4.  Understand your limitations:
People are pushed to their limits all the time and when you are pushed to your limits, you need to have enough self-awareness to know when enough is enough and ask for assistance . You can learn a lot from being outside your comfort zone, but it also can work against you when dealing with these situations at work. It is important to have enough self-awareness to know when you are pushing your limit. Taking the time to stop and know you are past your limits may be the reason that either succeed at the task in hand or not.

5. Communication:
Good communication is an important tool in reaching productivity and keeping strong working relationships. Employers who invest time and energy into delivering clear lines of communication will quickly build trust among employees; this will lead to an increase in productivity, output and morale in general.

6. Eliminate interruptions:
Unfortunately, it’s tough to really get a handle on eliminating interruptions in the workplace, as many of them are out of your control; but you can work on learning how to better manage your responses to interruptions so you can regain your productivity faster than you would have before.

9. Complete difficult tasks first:
The stress of putting off a difficult task can negatively affect your productivity towards all other tasks you need to accomplish. Many people have a limited amount of energy during the week. Doing the hardest task first means you are more likely to complete it and have more motivation to accomplish the little tasts.
